Installing the ink

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

⚠️ Recommended: watch the video

Is it your first time installing the ink? To ensure correct installation, we recommend watching the instruction video.

In these instructions, the spindle containing the cardboard core is referred to as spindle A, and the spindle containing the ink is referred to as spindle B.

Before starting, make sure you have access to a pair of scissors.

  • Take the ink, but do not remove the red tape.
  • Place the two black spindles in front of you, with the large side on the left.
  • Insert one of the spindles into the empty cardboard core (now: spindle A).
  • Insert the other spindle into the ink roll (now: spindle B).

Ensure that the red tape is facing down.

  • Lower the printing mechanism and insert spindle A into the top entrances, placing the larger side into the green wheel on the left, and the smaller side of the spindle into the black opening on the right.
  • Raise the printing mechanism. This will cause the ink roll and empty cardboard core to fall backwards.
  • With one hand, grab spindle A. Using your pair of scissors, cut the red tape while holding spingle B.
  • Hold spindle B. Pull the ink over the printhead.

⚠️ Important

Never remove the transparent anti-static strips from the printhead!

  • Place spindle B in the bottom entrances. Insert the large side of the spindle into the green wheel on the left, and the small side into the black opening on the right.
  • Rotate the green wheel containing spindle A backwards (approx. 5 times).
  • Close the printing mechanism by pushing the black corners on both sides simultaneously until you hear a loud click and ensure that the green button (the ‘PUSH’ button) is positioned completely upright.

If neither of the two green lights is blinking, your machine is now ready to print!

⚠️ Important

When changing the ink roll, always remove both cardboard cores from the spindles. Never leave the used ink on the spindle!
