Importing files

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

To print your logo (or other images) onto the ribbons, or if you would like to use a specific font that is not included by default, you will need to import the files before configuring the templates where you include these.

What do you need?

  • A desktop computer or laptop
  • An empty USB drive (FAT32)

Graphic requirements

  • Background images: 1280px * 800px | .png or .jpg
  • Logos: any size below 1000px *  … | .png or .jpg
  • Template icons: 600px * 400px | .png or .jpg

Please note that your logo should not have too much whitespace around it. It is usually best to crop the logo as displayed below:

Font requirements

Only TrueType Fonts (.ttf) are accepted. If you do not have the font in .ttf format, in which case it would be in .otf format, you can try and convert it online (here, for example).

Preparing the USB drive

  • Insert the USB drive into your desktop computer or laptop.
  • Open the USB drive and create 4 folders named:
    • Backgrounds
    • Logos
    • Templaceicons
    • Fonts
  • Check if all folders have the exact names mentioned above.
  • Place the files you wish to import into the PIY application in their corresponding folders.

Importing the files into the tablet

  • Insert the USB drive into the tablet.
  • Press the ‘1-2-3’ sequence in the upper right corner of the main screen.
  • Enter your password.
  • Press the button ‘LOAD’.
  • Press ‘Read data from USB’.

You will now be able to use the images and fonts throughout the PIY application.
