Printer setup

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

Getting started

  • Tap the ‘1-2-3’ sequence in the upper right corner of the main screen.
  • Enter your password.
  • Press the button ‘PRINTERS’.

This screen shows the connected printers. You can connect a maximum of 3 printers.

Changing the printer settings

  • Print ID: All connected printers have an ID (1, 2 or 3), determined by the USB port they are plugged in to. The assigned ID cannot be changed.
  • Width: Select the width of the installed satin ribbon.
  • Satin colour: Select the colour of the installed satin ribbon.
  • Foil colour: Select the colour of the installed ink.
  • Temp: Change the temperature for the print.
    • For all glossy ink, select a temperature between 11 and 13 degrees.
    • For black and matt gold ink, select a temperature between 9 and 11 degrees.

To find the temperature that works best for you, you can use the buttons (8 – 15) above the settings menu to perform quick tests without leaving the printer settings. A test print contains ‘TEXT’ and a border. Only select 9 to 13 degrees.

  • Offset: Vertically centre your text by moving the text up or down. To move the text upwards, enter 1 to 50. To move the text downwards, enter -1 to -50.
    • Set to 0 to remove the offset.

Since there is no ‘correct’ offset, finding the right offset may take a couple of tries. After adjusting the offset, you can test it by pressing the button displaying the temperature you selected earlier. Again, only select 9 to 13 degrees for your (test) prints.

  • Cut: Enable or disable the cutting mechanism of the printer. Of course, this is only applicable if your printer has the cutting mechanism installed.
  • Available: (De)activate the printer.

To return to the main menu, tap the ‘Back’ button.
